Patna: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislator Suraj Nandan Kushwaha on Wednesday filed a case against the son of Lalu Prasad Yadav and former Health Minister Tej Pratap Yadav for lying to the Election Commission when he failed to list his land in Aurangabad that he bought for a price of Rs. 53.34 lakh in 2010.
"Tej Pratap Yadav bought 45.24 decimal land in Aurangabad for a price of Rs. 53.34 lakh on January 16, 2010 from seven different persons on the same day to escape the scrutiny of the Income Tax Department. The payment was made through IICI Bank, Connaught Place branch in New Delhi. Today Tej Pratap is running a Hero Honda showroom on this plot under the name of Lara Distributors Pvt. Limited," Kushwaha said adding the former Health Minister intentionally omitted any mention of it when he was filing his nomination papers in 2015.
The BJP leader said that this was a criminal act that is punishable under Section 125-a of the Indian Penal Code.
In his lawsuit, Kushwaha asked the court to issue an arrest warrant for Tej Pratap Yadav and punish him to the full extent of the law.
