Patna: Trying to stay above the fray in the backdrop of his elder brother's recent questionable behavior, former Deputy Chief Minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejaswi Yadav on Tuesday tried to change the focus from his brother to the NDA government saying the Nitish administration had become the epitome of scams as not a single day went by when a new scandal did not surface in Bihar.
Talking to the reporters outside Bihar Assembly, the younger son of Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi said that Bihar had become a state of scams and everyone from the top of the bureaucracy to the lower rung of the administration was involved in skimming money from various government funds.
"Before we could get to the bottom of Srijan Scam and Toilet Scam, now we are learning that there is a new financial scandal involving construction of new school buildings in the state. This is becoming a regular feature in the Nitish government and the only way to move forward is to order a CBI probe to find out the quantum of irregularities in the Education department," the former Deputy Chief Minister said.
Yadav, who was earlier named the RJD face for the next Chief Minister of Bihar, further said that the BJP was trying to mislead the Assembly by pretending to be living under fear so as not to talk about these scandals in Bihar.
"Three of our legislators have also received death threats but the government has not done anything about it. Even Janata Dal – U spokesperson Sanjay Singh has issued threats to us but no action has been taken against him. We will soon meet with the Bihar Director General of Police (DGP) to discuss these issues," the RJD leader said.
