Patna: With past results of the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) Class XII exams being anything but something to be proud of in the wake of several scandals, this year's result so far seems to be without any controversy as Bihar Education Minister, KNP Verma, BSEB chairperson Anand Kishore, and Education Principal Secretary RK Mahajan announced the results on Wednesday sending a wave of jubilation among successful students across the state.

Girls once again outshone their boy counterparts in Science, Commerce, and Arts as Kalpana Kumari of Sheohar, who earlier hit the national headline by topping the National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET), topped in Class XII in Science category with a score of 86.8% getting 434 out of a total of 500 marks.

In Commerce, Nidhi Sinha of Muzaffarpur topped in Commerce with exact same percentage and marks as Kalpana Kumari.

Kusum Kumari of Jamui, meanwhile, topped with 424 marks, or 84.8%, in Arts.

BSEB Chairperson Anand Kishore said that nearly 12 lakh students appeared for class XII board exam out of which 6.31 lakh students emerged successful. While 92,726 students were declared pass with first division, 4.3 lakh got second division, and 99,395 received third division.

Unfortunately, 46.61%, or roughly about 5.5 lakh students flunked the exam.
