Patna: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Building Construction Minister Maheshwar Hazari are poised to inaugurate tomorrow what is being billed as Bihar's strongest building that is to become the new state police headquarters on Bailey Road.
Named after Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, the building has been constructed at the cost of Rs. 305 crore on a 53000 square-feet area.
This seven-story building is capable of withstanding earthquake up to nine on the Richter scale and can do without external power supply thanks to the state-of-the-art internal power generator capable of providing electricity to the entire building up to ten days. The building also sports a number of solar power panels to conserve energy during daytime and during summer season.
As if this is not enough, the complex also includes a small water treatment plant to carry out research in the area of sewage treatment.
With surveillance cameras at each corner and electronic security door on all sides, one cannot enter into the building without the issued electronic identity cards.
