Patna: Police in Patna under Rupaspur police station on Monday arrested four men and seized two guns, a pistol, and dozens of live cartridges from their possession.
Speaking at a press conference, Patna Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Garima Malik said that the police apprehended two men on a motorcycle during a vehicle checking on Patna-Danapur Road.
During the search, police recovered a bag full of gun cartridges. When questioned, they said they were given to them by someone who asked them to deliver it to somebody insisting they were just the delivery boys.
Based on their account, police arrested two more men and recovered two double-barrel guns, a pistol and many more cartridges and bullets.
All arrested men were said to be resident of Danapur and Khagaul area.
The arrested men were identified as Om Prakash, Shankar Suman, Pappu Singh, and Raju Singh.
Pappu Singh insisted the guns belonged to him and they were all legally purchased with required licenses.
Authorities are investigating the case.
