Patna: Following the discovery of three persons affected with Coronavirus in what is known as the state's largest market for medicines, the shop-owners on Govind Mitra Road in Patna on Tuesday announced their decision to shut their shops down for the next three days in an attempt to contain the spread of the deadly disease.
Besides the revelation of three persons infected by Coronavirus, the decision to shut down the shops for three days was taken by the Bihar Chemist and Druggist Association following the report of the death of a medical representative in Patna.
Emergency services, however, will not be impacted by this decision, the Association said.
Meanwhile, health workers in Hazmat suits were seen sanitizing the entire Govind Mitra Road.
While the shops are closed, this sanitization process will continue for the next three days before the reopening day on July 2, association officials said.
According to one report, the number of Coronavirus victims in Bihar have skyrocketed in the last few days. On Monday, nearly 400 new cases of COVID-19 were reported from 35 districts in the state with Patna leading the way with 109 new patients.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
