Patna: Speaking at a press conference in Patna on Tuesday, Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) chief Ram Vilas Paswan said the alliance between the Samajwadi Party (SP) and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) in Uttar Pradesh was the coming together of two corrupt persons who will be wiped off in the coming Lok Sabha elections.
“They can try any or all political combinations to take on the NDA in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls but in the end, people will re-elect Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister of India,” Paswan said.
Refuting reports of dispute over seat-sharing in the NDA, the LJP chief said there was no truth to it as the LJP was happy with six seats and did not seek any more seats as some have put out in the news.
“There is no conflict over seat-sharing in the NDA. We are retaining all the seats we had the last time around and besides the Munger seat that could be swapped for some other seat in Bihar, the rest five seats will remain with us,” he said.
Paswan, who is slated to give up his Hajipur seat in exchange for a place in the Rajya Sabha, said that his brother Pashupati Kumar Paras and son Chirag Paswan would decide who would be fielded from his former constituency.
“People have been asking if I would field my wife Reena from Hajipur but she has no interest in jumping into politics. I have left it on my brother and my son to decide who gets to contest from my old seat,” the Central Minister said adding Chirag would once again run from Jamui where he had won by a very large margin in 2014.
Speaking on the 10 percent reservation for upper caste poor people as ratified by the Modi government, Paswan said that he was in its favor since the release of the Mandal Commission and now that it has become a reality, he feels content and at peace with himself.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
